Garnalex was named winner of the Best Technical Innovation award at the Glass and Glazing Products (GGP) Installer Awards for its ground-breaking aluminium window and door system, Sheerline.

The residential aluminium windows and doors market has seen little innovation over the past 40 years, but Garnalex has revolutionised the sector with Sheerline. Garnalex received the coveted accolade in a virtual ceremony held on 18^th March. The judges praised the innovative aluminium system, saying: “Garnalex is a great British company and a great step forward for aluminium. It gives a much-needed boost for aluminium as it’s made in Britain.”

Sheerline first launched Classic, an ultra-secure beadless aluminium window system which combines exceptional performance with refined aesthetics, in 2020. This was followed quickly by its second innovative system, Prestige, launched earlier this year. Prestige is Sheerline’s most versatile and thermally efficient system boasting window U-values as low as 0.9 W/(m²K) for triple glazing and 1.3 U-value W/(m²K) double glazed. The system includes single and French doors with a wide choice of outer frames and styles for unlimited design options.
